I Decided To Try Wearing a Headscarf Next Semester

I sincerely hope I do not offend anyone.

I have been thinking about this for a while now. 

Just for a little while, to understand how it feels

Hijab

    I have been curious about the Hijab for a really long time.  I was a raised a Hindu, and my parents have always taught me to be respectful towards other people’s religions and beliefs. However, I wonder how they would feel if I started wearing hijab?  When I asked my mother about hijabs, she brought up how Hindu women in India would often cover their hair in a similar fashion.  Another famous example is the Virgin Mary who also covers her head in most artistic depictions of her. I’m not really sure where I’m going with this.

People often see the hijab as a form of oppression.  Others see it as something that liberates them from a society that teaches people to judge someone based on their looks.  I am curious to see what it would be like to wear a hijab.

I am incredibly worried about offending other people.  This is not my intention.  The few people I have spoken to about it have assured me that it would not be offensive if I decided to wear the veil.  I would love to learn about women in different religions, and this would be one way of immersing myself in this particular culture.

Today was so lazy.

• got out of bed at 3
• made and ate an egg burrito
• went for a run
• worked on an assignment for my Art In World Culture class
• made plans with friends
• ate Chipotle for dinner
• watching Funny Face starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire 

 pleasant. If only I could find that book I need to read.

I Kind of Want to See The Avengers Again in Theaters

I Love Being Able To See My Friends and Family But I Kind Of Want To Go Back To School

I am enjoying my break, but I really can’t wait until school starts again.

or maybe I just want to be at the compass lazying about all day?
